This tool is designed for focussed measurement of electrical conductivity of rocks and natural gamma activity in boreholes. The probe can operate in liquid filled, dry and plastic cased boreholes.High stability and exceptionally wide dynamic range provide sensitive logging of conductivity of sand-clay layers and also sands saturated by mineralised formation water. It is a very good indicator of porosity, permeable zones and the presence of ore minerals.Natural gamma is the principal log because it can run in drillholes of any condition (dry, cased etc). It is an excellent indicator of lithology, shale volume and a significant tool for correlation of formations in different wells and of depths on logs run in the same well. It shows a sharp thin-bed response. The response of the gamma ray log can be specifically calibrated in therms of ore grade uranium content.The response of the probe is practically immediate (< 0.5 s).
