A029 Water Level Indicator

For the discerning Geologist, Drilling Contractor or Bore Operator the inexpensive, simple to operate, water level indicator will provide an accurate indication of the standing water level in a borehole. Audible and visible signals make the unit suitable for environments where direct sunlight or pump noise would normally make measurements difficult.

Record the water level by reading the graduations on the cable. On completion wind up the cable and store conveniently until next required.

When production is steady and the pumped water is declining slowly the condition of the bore is probably normal.

When production is declining and the water table is declining, nearby bores should be checked to establish the condition of the water table.

If production declines but the water is rising in the bore check the condition of the pump. During production if the water table is normal the bore may require development.
