Auslog
We are a manufacturer of geophysical borehole logging equipment for use by coal miners, mineral explorers, groundwater consultants, geotechnical engineers and management authorities.
Incorporated in August 1990 and now a wholly owned
subsidiary of LaCoste & Romberg - Scintrex Inc, we operate from premises
located at Rocklea, Brisbane, Australia. These facilities consist of an
administration center, fully equipped electrical and mechanical production
and workshop facilities. We have 2 controlled test boreholes located
in our factory grounds.
Auslog Digital Logging Systems are designed
to be easy to use in field operations with a minimal of training. The
windows operating software package includes onboard help movies to assist
though any area of doubt and is designed to be used with a basic laptop
computer, minimizing cost and complexity.
Logging tools are digital, rugged and reliable. Full calibration
of parameters ensures all data is accurate, while careful design and manufacture
of components assures consistent quality data time after time. We also
offer a number of borehole video systems to suit many applications
Auslog Winches are known for their reliability
robustness and low maintenance design.
Our systems are available in a large range of configurations from small
portable units to large units suitable for vehicle mounting.
At Auslog we are dedicated to constant improvement and adding new equipment
to product range. We undertake the bulk of Research and Development in-house.
To this end, Auslog invites all users to offer suggestions as to how they
would like current Auslog equipment modified or upgraded and what equipment
and tools should be added to our product range.

General Information:
Geophysical borehole logging is one of the major investigative methods used
today by a wide spectrum of the minerals industry: mining, exploration,
groundwater and geotechnical. The basic principle is the analysis of data
recorded by one or more tools run within the borehole.
A large number of different borehole tools are available with responses related to a variety of physical properties of the strata surrounding the borehole. These responses are recorded in digital form, processed in appropriate fashion, and analysed to provide useful information on such strata properties as geological character, depth and thickness, density, electrical resistivity, moisture content, and fracture intensity.
