A401 NATURAL GAMMA PROBE

The natural gamma probe measures the natural gamma radiation released from potassium and the decay products of uranium and thorium in the host rock.
There is no radiation source within this tool.
The probe is useful for the following applications:

Using total count rate:

  • general lithology
  • delineation in some ore bodies
  • Identification of coal seams in coal deposits



    Using spectral mode:

  • details lithology
  • finger printing of interseam coal sediments or identification of coal seams
  • delineation and grade control in uranium exploration and mining
